@sweetjaypee You have to plug the camcorder to a power outlet in order to transfer video via usb. What I would suggest is either getting a cheap 4-8gb SDHC card format it from within the camera, and transfer all your footage onto there. The magic of AVCHD is being able to work on your project while the file is in your SD slot. So no dragging of files onto the desktop or folders.

The video is wrong, you must go to the video setting not the video photo setting. Press the functions button. Go to the second thing from the bottom which probably says off but may say LW or SW. When you have that highlited go over to LW or SW and press select. You will know be able to take photo while filming video by pressing the photo button when you are filming.
