    @r31ncarnat3d …
    @r31ncarnat3d That’s true but the 50D also has AF Micro-adjustment which in the long run makes it a better overall performer because it allows focus to be fine-tuned for twenty different lenses, negating issues with back- or front-focusing as well as Lens Peripheral Illumination Correction (also known as vignetting correction; vignetting is shading in the corners of an image). So, unless you use a split image viewfinder the 50D will constantly deliver more in focus images.

    I have this camera and I am very pleased with it, but I got a sweet deal on a canon eos 1d mark2, and I am tempted. So, do you have any experience with the 1d mark 2 vs the 40D?

    @ithree6mafia …
    @ithree6mafia Carbon Polymer, in other words, Plastic. And also Magnesium Alloy on the inside. Both are weather sealed. But if you’re thinking on a new semi-pro dSLR camera, go for the new Canon EOS 7D.

    @cameralabs I …
    @cameralabs I actually heard that the 50D has noisier pics than the 40D, especially at higher ISOs.

    That’s the biggest reason why I’m aiming for a 40D instead of a 50D.

    thanks for …
    thanks for responding (: appreciate that. so you think there won’t be a difference if i’d put a ‘standard’ sigma lense on a 40d or a 50d? i just thought of perhaps not challenging a 50d enough due to it’s 14mp or getting even worse image quality than on a 40d you know..

    hey gordon! i rly …
    hey gordon! i rly need your help .. i’m swaying to and fro between the canon eos 40d and 50d. the 50d only costs about 50€ more than the 40d anymore so is that a GO for the 50d for sure? keep in mind that i’m also planning to buy lenses at the price of 300-400€ by brands like sigma or tamron so is then the 40d the better choice because of the 14mp of the 50d and those lenses wouldn’t be profitable at a 50d? i’ve already read your reviews but couldn’t find help there.. thanks in advance

    err99 means 2 things:

    1. the shutter is done (can be cured by restarting, but can return)
    2. you have to clean the lens contacts
