HI,
I recently have been looking at HD camcorders that record to a HDD. So far I have looked at the Canon HG21 and really like it and its features. What other camcorders should I consider before I buy? I would like camcorders to have an accessory shoe (hot or cold), a 1/8th in microphone input, and at least 12x optical zoom. Thank you for your help.

or another good HDD HD camcorder for your choice is Sony HDR-XR500V 120GB HDD High Definition Camcorder w/12x Optical Zoom but a bit pricey.

you cant go wrong with canon, they make the best camcorder lenses. Sony is a close second, but i hate sony’s insistent use of proprietary batteries and flash media that cost a fortune to replace
